Novatek summer internship program

Talent Cultivation

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread in 2021, Novatek has not stopped its commitment to talent recruitment. When the campus talent recruitment expo and related physical activities in May have been suspended one after another, Novatek has responded immediately and proposed innovative approaches to continuously recruit outstanding talent, while implementing the required epidemic-prevention measures.

 

Novatek recruited 27 interns this year, and adopted the methods of split operation and work from home so that professional learning and practical operation can still be carried out remotely. The professional study of interns covers analog IC design, digital IC design, algorithm development, and soft/firmware development, hardware development, physical process design, etc. Novatek has offered online compulsory and elective technical courses, allowing students to choose their own subject of interest other than their expertise. The instructors of the courses are engineers of Novatek with many years of experience in display driver IC and SoC products. The instructors shared not only professional knowledge and practical project experience, but also technology trends from a forward-looking perspective. The HR Department also provided seminars on job search skills to the interns, allowing the students to think about their career development directions and plan ahead for future connections in the workplace. In addition, to enable students to accumulate soft power in the workplace, the interns were divided into 4 major groups. Through participating in team activities, they had the chance to get to know each other better and experience Novatek’s life together. To gain an in-depth understanding of Novatek’s culture, the interns also interviewed the employees of Novatek and presented their brilliant internship results through multiple social media applications, demonstrating their key competencies such as communication skills, creativity, and logic.

 

In recent years, Novatek has continued to expand its research capability as well as R&D capacity, and cultivate industry-university collaboration. In order to utilize the achievements from universities, outstanding students were recruited with priority through the summer internship program. The internship program was combined with the pre-employment recruitment to offer 60% of the interns with full-time job qualification in advance. Novatek hopes that as its operating performance continues to grow, the bonding between industry and university will remain strong to strengthen the recruitment of potential talents in universities, reserving energy for Novatek's R&D team to reach new peaks!
