Philosophy and Goals

"Take from society, give back to society" is not just a slogan, but a concrete demonstration of Novatek people giving back to the society with practical actions. At the beginning of the establishment of the Company, the "Novatek Charity Club" was founded by the employees. Starting from 2007, employees have voluntarily initiated donations to raise the "Novatek Social Caring Fund". Since 2010, the Company has been contributing to the establishment of the Novatek Foundation, which operates in accordance with the provisions of the Foundations Act to carry out internal audit and control procedures regularly, ensuring the integrity of the foundation's operation and devoting itself to local community care from a deeper and broader perspective.

Local Community Involvement

Novatek is dedicated to assisting in the development of its local community of Hsinchu County/City. The Novatek Foundation was established through a donation from the Company, and it provides long-term support for the education of underprivileged groups in the area via the following four initiatives:

Since 2010, Novatek Foundation has continuously sponsored two schools in Hsinchu County to implement the Ministry of Education's "Night Angel Lighting (after-school tutoring) Program".

Since 2022, Novatek Foundation has been consistently conducting nature experience courses for special education students from rural areas of Hsinchu County.

Collaborated with volunteers from the Society of Wilderness to guide students from rural areas in experiencing nature and understanding the concept of ecological conservation.

Invested NT$300,000, benefiting 105 students across 210 instances.

Since 2010, Novatek Foundation has consistently made plans to accompany Night Angel Program students from the two schools in Hsinchu County mentioned above and the children from the nearby Hsinchu Ren’ai Orphanage in Hsinchu County.

Arranged corporate volunteer services four times per year to accompany children from orphanages and children from disadvantaged backgrounds to experience cultural stimulation.

Invested 630 volunteer hours, benefiting children in 76 instances.

Since 2024, the "Women in Tech" initiative will be launched to promote the development of science education at Hsinchu Girls' Senior High School.

To enhance the interest and culture of scientific research among female senior high school students in Hsinchu County and City, the Company launched a Science Education Development and Promotion Program at Hsinchu Girls' Senior High School. The program provides subsidies and rewards for teachers and students engaging in scientific development and research projects, aiming to cultivate creative and problem-solving female technology talent for the future.

A total donation of NT$160,000 was provided to support the organization of two keynote lectures, two hands-on science workshop sessions, and 15 science fair awards and subsidy programs, benefiting a total of 221 student participations.
 

Social engagement and influence

Social Participation

In 2025, Novatek's overall investment in social engagement was NT$80,578,408. The largest contribution was from the Company, accounting for 80.4%; the second highest contribution was employee donations, which accounted for 16.8%; and time contribution accounted for the remaining 2.8%. Based on the objectives of the projects, Novatek's social participation actions are divided into three aspects: community empowerment, public donation and volunteer service. Community empowerment includes higher education, assistance to the disadvantaged, education in rural areas, and sports promotion. Public donations include employee donations such as the Novatek Charity Club and the Novatek Social Caring Fund, as well as local actions. Volunteer services focus on serving the disadvantaged and caring children.

To promote project management and explain the results of social participation, Novatek also attaches great importance to the social influence of various programs. We define "social influence" as "the beneficiaries (including beneficiaries or beneficiary organizations) who have changed their thinking or behaviors due to Novatek's social engagement services." For the engagement in the three aspects of community empowerment, public donation and volunteer service, we use qualitative description or quantitative data to present the positive influence of Novatek's social participation.
