Problem to be solved

  • It is not easy for social welfare groups to raise funds, which can limit their supporting capacity, affecting the care of disadvantaged families, and leading to potential social problems.
  • Assist in solving the problem of blood shortage in blood banks.
  • Support the purchase of local farming products, and stabilize the profit from agricultural production and sales.
  • Assist in the growth and development of the local community.

Novatek Social Caring Fund

In 2007, Novatek established the "Novatek Social Caring Fund", which is funded by voluntary donations from employees. Every year, contributions are made to give back to society, following the philosophy of "collecting small amounts to achieve great charity". This initiative supports charitable organizations in need, ensuring that they receive appropriate care and making charitable giving an integral part of the Company's culture. Novatek continues to carry out social care activities, including on-site visits, usage supervision, and reporting on implementation outcomes, all of which reflect Novatek's spirit of "taken from society, give back to society".

The donation targets of the "Novatek Social Caring Fund" include physical and mental disabilities, early intervention, elder care, and diverse education and learning. All relevant projects have been reviewed and evaluated by the project team of the Administration Department.  In 2024, a total of 1,433 employees—47.9% of the Company’s employees—participated in the donation drive, raising a total of NT$13,443,650. This represented a 9.9% growth in the number of donors compared to 2023. To encourage employees' participation in the annual charitable donation campaign, exclusive gifts were provided, including 1,433 potted plants purchased from sheltered farms. This initiative not only increased the income of charitable organizations but also contributed to the greening of the office environment. Additionally, a survey was conducted to gather feedback from all employees, promoting the concept of the Novatek Social Caring Fund. A total of 960 responses were collected, with 78 employees showing their support and encouragement. Since 2020, we have annually purchased self-made products from social welfare organizations' sheltered workshops as incentives for donation. This not only increases the revenue of nonprofit organizations but also expands employment and work opportunities for the beneficiaries of these organizations. In 2024, the total procurement amount exceeded NT$450,000, supporting two charitable groups and amplifying the impact of our charitable efforts.

A total of 55 donation projects were evaluated this year, with a total donation amount of NT$13,443,650 in 2024, achieving a 100% donation execution rate. Since 2007, employee donations to the Novatek Social Caring Fund has contributed over NT$162 million, bringing love and warmth to various resource-dependent corners of Taiwan.

Local eco-friendly farming

  • Novatek Collaborates with Local Youth to Promote Sustainability:
In support of local smallholders and the consumption of imperfect but edible agricultural products, Novatek launched a health promotion initiative in celebration of its 27th anniversary. Partnering with Yunlin Local Farmers and a returning youth entrepreneur, LinJi Juice, the Company organized a charity juice subscription campaign titled ''Healthy Giving: Local Farmer Juice Donation Campaign.'' Employees could use company-issued “VeggieFood Cups” to purchase freshly made, custom vegetable and fruit juices for a symbolic NT$27. Novatek procured nearly NT$300,000 worth of ''GoodWill Foods'', and commissioned the returning youth team to develop three “Engineer’s Special” juice blends, freshly prepared and served onsite to promote employee wellness and support social welfare. The campaign attracted a total of 2,896 employee participations, raising over NT$104,000 in charitable proceeds—all of which were donated to support food and agriculture education programs in remote rural areas.
  • Procurement of Locally-Sourced, Eco-Friendly Agricultural Products to Support Sustainable Production and Revitalize Local Agricultural Characteristics:

To commemorate Novatek’s 27th anniversary, a series of health promotion initiatives was launched in alignment with the principles of eco-friendly farming. The program featured the procurement of locally-sourced, sustainably grown ingredients, including “Golden Corridor Edamame” from Changhua and Yunlin, “Eagle Red Beans” from Pingtung, “Sapulju Tribe Millet” from Taitung, “Niudoushan Lotus Root” from Chiayi, and “Guantian Water Chestnut” from Tainan. These ingredients were used to create the “Savor the Beauty of Soup”—a collection of nutritious soups offered weekly to employees free of charge throughout 2024. Nearly NT$400,000 was invested in the procurement of eco-friendly agricultural products, resulting in 10 unique soup recipes served over 40 distribution events. This initiative provided direct support to local agriculture and contributed to the regional socio-economic cycle. Additionally, five health-focused editorial articles and five themed videos on eco-friendly ingredients were produced, exploring the intrinsic link between diet and health. These efforts integrate health promotion with sustainable living, safeguarding employee well-being while simultaneously advancing environmental sustainability.

Novatek Social Caring Fund

We are grateful for the timely blessings, as the Novatek Social Caring Fund has provided financial assistance for the kitchen renovation project. After the renovation, the kitchen now allows the youth at Straphael to prepare for independent living and training in an energy-efficient, carbon-reducing, and safe environment.

Yu De-Ling, Administrative Team Leader, Straphael Organization

Novatek Social Caring Fund

We are deeply grateful to Novatek for bringing hope and life through their love and support. Their generous contribution helped us build a brand-new kitchen, enabling the residents at the center to enjoy nutritious meals every day. More importantly, through the cooking training program, they now have the opportunity to learn a valuable skill. Not only will they be able to cook for themselves at home, but we also hope they will have broader learning opportunities, with the potential to serve in sheltered workshops related to the culinary industry in the future. During the selection process, the Novatek team attentively listened to our needs and personally visited the center, gaining a deeper understanding of the true needs of individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. This kind of warm-hearted corporate support has brought more awareness, support, and love to people with disabilities, making our society more inclusive.
