Special Issue on the Awarding of the “Youth Volunteer Excellent Utilization Unit” to Novatek Education Foundation

Volunteer Service

The Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education held the "2021 Youth Volunteer Team Competition and Utilization Unit Awarding Program" at the Taipei City Youth Development Office on the evening of March 12. There were 62 volunteer teams participated in this event, and a total of more than 1,000 volunteers engaged in the services. Among them, 4 organizations won the Excellent Utilization Unit Award, and 39 teams entered the finals during the event to share their original intention and enthusiasm of exchanging services.

The volunteer team of Novatek Education Foundation was recognized as the "Youth Volunteer Excellent Utilization Unit" for four consecutive years. We would like to share with you this special issue on the achievement of the volunteer team. In the future, we will continue to move forward with the momentum of love, give full play to the power of corporate volunteers, and contribute our own strength to give back to the society.

Some people love luxury cars and watches. Some people have difficulty of giving up fame, while others may treat small things, like a little doll, as their most precious treasure in life, since these small things have always been there when they went through tough times in life. Even if it is just an “inconspicuous doll”, it can still become the most valuable memory in life because of its "companionship".

Understand the children with love

Novatek is committed to improving the display technology, hoping to provide people with higher-quality visual enjoyment. For this reason, Novatek Education Foundation pays special attention to the diverse learning of visually impaired students. For a long time, we have collaborated with Taichung School for the Visually Impaired to organize local exploration and learning courses, using the four senses of hearing, touching, smelling and tasting to accompany the visually impaired students into nature, and enabling them to feel the warmth of sunshine, the smell of soil, and the beauty of the changing seasons. We also helped the students to use non-visual methods to experience farming. Although they cannot see with their eyes, they can "see" the beauty of their hometown and the land with their mind.

Accompanying disadvantaged children through their journey of development

Novatek Education Foundation also pays attention to at-risk students, and continues to provide workplace experience for disadvantaged children in half-way house. Over the years, the Foundation has developed a sense of belonging between the volunteers and the students through one-on-one companionship. It is believed that in the course of the children's life, they can accumulate more power through the companionship. People do not grow up alone; we grew up with different people by our side at different stages. An eagle can fly high only if it is not afraid of strong winds; disadvantage children can shine only if they can step outside of their comfort zone.

Because of companionship, it is extraordinary

"The most important things are often invisible." Spiritual support and positive care are emotions that transcend physical objects. Volunteers of Novatek Education Foundation, like gardeners in a rose garden, accompany children to grow up with love, watering the invisible but most important things with love.
