Upgraded friendly workplace - Novatek promotes “child care and work from home” policy

Building a friendly workplace has always been a focus of Novatek. In order to offer more support to its employees, Novatek has upgraded its friendly workplace. Since 2022, it has implemented its “child care and work from home policy.” If employees have children under the age of six at home, they have the option of working from home for 15 days annually if needed. In addition, Novatek also provides its employees with a “child-care allowance” of NT$5,000 per month for each child under the age of 6 to reduce their financial burden for child care.

 

Novatek attaches great importance to the low birth rate problem in Taiwan. Nowadays, nuclear families and dual-income families account for the majority of families. Unlike in the past when other family members could offer assistance in child care, and with the COVID-19 pandemic still a major concern, if the child has tested positive for COVID-19 or their school is closed, one of the parents must stay home to take care of the child. Therefore, in addition to providing a child-care allowance, employees with children under the age of 6 are given more flexibility and benefits at work, encouraging employees to have children and allowing both parents to have the opportunity to share their financial and parenting responsibilities. In the future, Novatek will continue to evaluate relevant workplace-friendly measures and become the strongest backer to support its employees at work while taking care of their families, ensuring that their children will grow up happy and healthy.
