Novatek volunteers teamed up with Taichung Tsu-Hsin Children’s Home student for career exploration - Creating short videos on smart phones

Short video clips have become the mainstream on social media. Coupled with the popularity of smart phones, they’ve gradually promoted the era of internet celebrities. To enable teenagers in halfway houses are connected with digital technology, learning the latest professional skills, and showing themselves better in front of the camera, Novatek volunteers accompanied students from the Taichung Tsu-Hsin Children’s Home for a day to work with audio-visual creation expert, Mr. Li. Under the professional guidance of Mr. Li, the students learn about the marketing trends of short videos, film production processes, short video shooting skills and post-production editing. The full-day course is an in-depth study, allowing students to experience the fun of video production.
The instructor first used short video examples to guide the students and Novatek volunteers to think about and learn how to propose video planning, and practice the basic skills necessary for screenwriting. He then had the volunteers and students divide into groups to carry out script planning, video production, and post-production editing through teamwork. The site also prepared all kinds of professional equipment required for film shooting, including desktop tripods, selfie sticks, stabilizers, fill lights, shotgun and lavalier microphones, etc. After the instructor’s explanation on the characteristics and operation of the equipment, the students used the professional equipment for live shooting and created an exclusive and unique short video for each group. In the end, each group presented their videos. Some were funny, and some were based on vlogging or role playing, fully demonstrating the students’ diverse creativity and the hard work.
Guided by professional instructor, the students used smart phones to shoot videos and do editing. Through a day of smart phone short video creation and learning, the students and Novatek volunteers explored the overall process of the digital audio-visual industry, experienced the fun of smart phone filming and video creation, and became smart phone filming masters!
