Novatek has long been sponsoring green spaces for parks to protect and maintain leisure and recreational spaces for public use, including sponsoring the maintenance of Yushan National Park trails for 16 consecutive years since 2007, as well as the Air Quality Purification Zone of the Hsinchu Horizon & Sea Viewing Area since 2022, receiving recognition from the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Hsinchu City Government.

The Horizon & Sea Viewing Area is located along the coast of Hsinchu City, covering an area of about 1 hectare. Since 2022, Novatek has been sponsoring the Horizon & Sea Viewing Area, and sending Novatek’s volunteers to carry out regular environmental cleanups and maintenance. It paid attention to the maintenance of plants, regular weeding, and voluntarily expanded the area of maintenance and sponsorship, utilizing corporate resources to invest in the maintenance work, and making contributions to the protection of the environment.

Currently, there are 69 plants in the Horizon & Sea Viewing Area, including Terminalia catappa, Araucaria heterophylla and a large area of green space. The carbon sink offered by the area is 4.237 metric tons, which can naturally remove 6.007 metric tons of carbon dioxide every year, playing an air purifying role, as well as protecting the air quality of the city. At the same time, the area also provides a space for leisure activities, ecological environment education and the sustainable use of resources. Through the involvement of both the Company and corporate volunteers, Novatek once again demonstrated its continuous efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and protecting natural ecology.
