Novatek Foundation has been long promoting reading programs for elementary schools in the rural areas of Hualien. This year's reading and writing camp invited children's literature writer, Mr. Wen-Hui Huang, to join us in school. Let's take a look at the process of how the students were guided to write!
When it comes to writing, whether for adults or children, many people would be intimidated by the difficulty of coming up with ideas and staying on topic. The teacher wrote the topic on the blackboard and shared his own personal stories or related scenes from storybooks to the students. The teacher talked non-stop for a whole class, providing the students with abundant materials, hoping to ease their fear of writing.
In the second class, it was time for the students to write. Some of them got stuck and were afraid that their writing would not be good enough, so they hesitated to start. At this time, the teacher approached the students, slowly guided and encouraged them, and allow the students to write down their thoughts. Now, let's read the works of the students!
