Novatek Visits Bring Students Closer to the Workplace for a Head Start in Career Exploration
Talent Cultivation
To promote the development of semiconductor research and technology, Novatek has taken a forward-looking approach and cultivated relationships with campuses while actively managing intercollegiate relations. In addition to regularly organizing various campus recruitment events, Novatek continues to plan project initiatives, including summer internships, recruitment for Research and Development (R&D) Substitute Services, pre-employment programs, collaborative projects with key academic departments in universities, industry expert courses, and corporate visits. These activities provide students with early exposure to the workplace and assist them in establishing their future career plans. In May 2023, Novatek invited undergraduate students from the Electrical Engineering departments at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) to visit Novatek’s offices in Tainan and Hsinchu. The group was led by the Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering at NYCU. During the visit, university alumni employed at Novatek shared their firsthand experiences working various jobs within the IC design industry. They discussed how to choose specific fields for further study in graduate school, such as digital, analog, software, algorithm, and hardware development. They offered advice on the preparation needed for these directions and how to connect academic knowledge to practical work. Additionally, the alumni provided insight into the work and daily life of engineers at Novatek, and participants had an opportunity to tour the factory area. Undergraduate students in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering are just beginning their learning journey, and this phase is crucial for exploring their interests. Through corporate visits, they can understand industry trends, identify their future career development path, and gain in-depth exposure to corporate culture, workplace environment, company growth, and future planning. These experiences bring students closer to the workplace for a head start in exploring and planning their future careers. |
