Novatek Microelectronics Corp. Chairman Tai-Shung, Ho Honored as Top Leader in "2024 Taiwan Top 100 CEOs" by Harvard Business Review, Leading ESG Implementation

Mr. Tai-Shung, Ho, Chairman of Novatek Microelectronics Corp., has been honored with the top position in the "2024 Taiwan Top 100 CEOs" by Harvard Business Review (HBR). This award is conducted and presented by the Traditional Chinese edition of HBR, following the evaluation methodology of the U.S. English edition's "Global Top 100 CEOs". The evaluation is conducted biennially since 2016. The ranking criteria for "Taiwan Top 100 CEOs" consist of 85% financial performance and 15% ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects. Mr. Tai-Shung, Ho has consistently ranked within the top 10 in the past five editions, attaining the 4th position in the previous edition. This year, Mr. Tai-Shung, Ho has achieved the top rank, recognizing his outstanding performance in balancing financial achievements and sustainable practices in business management.


Since founding Novatek Microelectronics in 1997, Mr. Tai-Shung, Ho has profoundly understood the social responsibilities borne by modern enterprises and has actively driven innovations and breakthroughs in ESG practices at Novatek. Under his leadership, Novatek has not only achieved remarkable business performance and steady growth but also made significant strides in corporate sustainability.


Financial Performance:
Under Chairman Tai-Shung, Ho’s tenure, Novatek’s market capitalization increased by NT$353.2 billion, with a cumulative total shareholder return of 1085% and an average annual EPS of 15.3.


Environmental Protection:
The company has continuously promoted green operations, including implementing energy efficiency improvements and waste reduction measures, thereby enhancing resource management efficiency. Since 2007, Novatek has been maintaining trails in Yushan National Park for 18 consecutive years and has sponsored the Air Quality Purification Zone at Hsinchu’s Horizon & Sea Viewing Area for three consecutive years, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability.


Social Responsibility:
Under Chairman Tai-Shung, Ho’s leadership, Novatek has long prioritized employee compensation and talent development, being included in the "Taiwan High Salary 100 Index" for 11 consecutive years since 2014. Beyond treating employees well, Novatek has actively participated in social welfare activities for 18 years, promoting the "Love Continuity Fund" through employee donations, benefiting thousands of disadvantaged groups across Taiwan. Additionally, the Novatek Education Foundation, established in 2010, has long supported disadvantaged education and corporate volunteer services, receiving the Ministry of Education's Social Education Contribution Award in 2022 and being honored 11 times with the Ministry of Education's Volunteer Service and Sports Promoter Awards, reflecting high recognition for Novatek's long-term social care efforts.


Corporate Governance:
Under his leadership, Novatek has consistently enhanced its corporate governance system, including safeguarding shareholders' rights, strengthening the structure and operation of the board of directors, improving information transparency, and implementing sustainable development. Since 2022, Novatek has ranked in the top 5% in corporate governance evaluations for two consecutive years, showcasing its exceptional performance and commitment to corporate governance.
