In July 2024, the Novatek Social Caring Fund donated NT$898,000 to the Taipei Parents’ Association for the Visually Impaired for the "Barrier-Free Learning Support Program for the Visually Impaired." This funding helped purchase new equipment, a high-speed Braille printer, which was officially launched in late October. This initiative enriches the learning resources for visually impaired students and narrows the learning gap with sighted peers.
Since its establishment in 2007, the Novatek Social Caring Fund has adhered to the philosophy of "pooling small donations to achieve great public welfare." It supports social welfare organizations in need, helping disadvantaged groups receive better care, and making charity an integral part of corporate culture. Since 2020, the Novatek Social Caring Fund has been supporting the Taipei Parents’ Association for the Visually Impaired, initially donating to the cloud-based Thousand Eyes Platform library and hardware facilities for the visually impaired. In 2024, Novatek once again demonstrated its social responsibility by donating funds for a high-speed printer dedicated to learning resources for visually impaired students. This printer is used to produce Braille textbooks, exam papers, and supplementary materials for visually impaired students in northern Taiwan. It includes 30,000 pages of primary school textbooks and 5,200 pages of middle school textbooks annually, and also provides image production for high school textbooks. Through this donation, Novatek and the association jointly become a significant support force in the learning journey of visually impaired students.
In today’s inclusive education system, Novatek will continue to work on narrowing the educational gap between visually impaired and sighted students. By accumulating love and effort, Novatek aims to infuse technology with warmth and compassion, assisting visually impaired students to pursue their education with hope and determination.
