Novatek Foundation 2022 Yunlin Summer Story Camp Second Session Highlights Part 2
Promote Reading in Rural Areas
Building a Dream “Home” | Novatek Foundation
The second-session of Novatek Foundation’s Yunlin Story Summer Camp, “Story and Game Exchange,” was aimed at helping to get children thinking about places where they can express themselves (home/space/dreams) through a picture book called “The Big Orange Splot,” and followed up with a building activity to show what the place looks like, using recycled materials to build a secret base of their own.
During the activity, the children had free range to think up anything they wanted. By accepting everyone’s creativity, starting from making design drawings to revising ideas, implementing those ideas, revising again, and sharing their results, the creation of any ideas was unimpeded, helping to retain everyone’s unique way of thinking.
Just as Mr. Mei Doudou “The Big Orange Splot” says, “My house is me, and I am my house. My house is where I am myself. It is where all my dreams come true.”
