Novatek Actively Reaches Out to Recruit Graduate Students from National Cheng Kung University’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering
Talent Cultivation
Novatek, in its pursuit of top talents, collaborated with the Innovation Headquarters of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to hold the “Discover the Next IC Design Leader” recruitment event. The event attracted nearly 100 students from the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. Through industry trend analysis; sharing of workplace experiences by alumni; and presentations on Research and Development (R&D) Substitute Services, corporate internships, and scholarships, the event facilitated close interactions between Novatek and students, enabling upcoming graduates to grasp industry trends, plan their careers in advance, and gain insight into industry needs. Furthermore, workplace simulations presented by alumni demonstrated the practical applications of students’ knowledge. The event was attended by nearly 100 students from the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering. Chiang, a second-year graduate student from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, was attending the recruitment event for the second consecutive year. He mentioned that last year, his main goal was to understand what the IC industry, which he wanted to pursue in the future, was working on. However, this year, he wanted to gain a better idea of the job responsibilities for different job categories at Novatek. Lo, a first-year graduate student from the Power Systems Division of the Department of Electrical Engineering, was also participating in the event for the second time. He mentioned that during the previous event, Novatek mainly introduced job openings related to digital and analog ICs. However, this time, there were more opportunities in the field of system applications. Understanding that competition to enter Novatek is fierce, Lo began acquiring the expertise required by the Company last year. He was also considering applying for Novatek’s R&D Substitute Services. Another graduate student, Tseng, from the Power Systems Division of the Department of Electrical Engineering was a first time participant. He joined this event to gain insight into Novatek’s work environment and job opportunities. As he was about to graduate, he also intended to take the opportunity to submit his resume directly to the Human Resources Department, hoping to secure an interview. During the event, several senior employees of Novatek who graduated from NCKU were invited to share their insight into IC design work. They guided students to get a glimpse of the daily work of engineers in digital IC design, analog IC design, and system applications. Through interactive discussions, the alumni provided career planning advice and shared their own experiences, giving students a head start in understanding and engaging with the IC design industry and boosting their confidence in their future career paths. The purpose of this event was not only to add highly skilled and knowledgeable fresh talent to Novatek but also to help talented students from NCKU find the most suitable positions in the workplace. Novatek established its R&D Center in Yongkang, Tainan, 13 years ago, and has been cultivating outstanding talents in IC design, algorithm development, and system applications ever since. In response to rising market demands and the emerging trends of the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart homes, as well as the booming development of high-resolution panel products such as mobile phones, tablets, TVs, and displays, the Tainan R&D Center has continued to recruit and expand its R&D team. This year, Novatek’s Board of Directors approved the construction of a new R&D building in Tainan. A construction team for the R&D building has been established, and it aims to meet the Company’s long-term development needs and the continuous talent expansion by providing a more complete and high-quality working environment. The outstanding students from NCKU, a leading university in southern Taiwan, are particularly targeted by Novatek due to the geographical advantage. Novatek aims to cultivate the students of NCKU as essential R&D talents for the Company in the future. |
