Novatek Volunteers Join Children from Reindeer Children’s Home in Exploring Sports and Fitness Coaching Careers

Getting to contribute your own efforts to be with children who unfortunately lack the care of their biological families, and to help them have a joyful day – I really feel like that’s a happy and meaningful thing.

These children are forced to grow up in less-than-ideal environments, so it’s inevitable that their future development faces more challenges than many. This is not through any fault of theirs, nor is it in any way what they want. While we hope that these children can rise above adversity and overcome their circumstances, it's important to empathize with their situation and understand that accomplishing all that is not easy. Of course, we believe that some children can turn their lives around through hard work or fortunate opportunities. But an even more important question is: Will those who cannot achieve all that still maintain the ability and confidence to be self-reliant and resilient in the future?

That’s why I was delighted to see the Novatek Foundation’s dedication in arranging this event for the children. The one-day itinerary of visiting the gym gave the children the opportunity to experience many possibilities for their future development. Some of these children may not excel in academics or exams, but they possess strong physiques and endless energy (they even challenged us volunteers to arm wrestling in the afternoon). Who says they can’t become qualified fitness coaches or work in sports-related businesses in the future? Even if today’s activity only leads to a small fraction of these children plant seeds in their hearts that blossom into future success, that will still be a valuable contribution to society and disadvantaged children. Such thoughts make me very happy, and give me a much deeper understanding of what hard work can mean beyond just providing for myself and my family.
