Novatek's 2024 Summer Internship Program Successfully Concluded: Sharing Feedback from International Interns

Talent Cultivation

Outstanding talent is the driving force for a company's continuous development and innovation. With a forward-looking perspective, Novatek deeply invests in campus relationships, actively cultivating and recruiting exceptional talent. In 2024, Novatek recruited 44 summer interns, including 4 international students, with expertise in areas such as analog IC design, digital IC design, algorithm development, software/firmware/hardware development, and physical design processes.

During the two-month internship, Novatek assigned project-based work to help students integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The company also organized technical seminars and soft skills courses to help students understand the corporate culture and build a professional foundation early on. This year, the inclusion of 4 international students in the summer program aimed to create a more diverse and inclusive work environment. Novatek hosted cross-cultural exchange activities to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of different cultures.

Additionally, we organized group tasks for interns to foster connections and explore various aspects of Novatek, enhancing team cohesion. At the closing ceremony, interns presented their achievements and shared their experiences at Novatek, showcasing key competencies such as communication skills and innovative thinking.

Novatek aims to prioritize the recruitment of outstanding students through the summer internship program. With a pre-hire system in place, over 80% of interns eligible for graduation secured full-time positions. As Novatek continues to grow, we remain committed to industry-academia collaboration, intensifying efforts to attract talented students and empowering our R&D team to reach new heights!

Intern Feedback:

The internship only lasted 2 months, but the things I learned, the work experience, memories, and friends will stay for much longer. Through this internship I gained much more experience in analog design than I expected. Implementing textbook theories to real-life application is challenging but gave me immeasurable sense of achievement. To top it off, the games and tasks along the internship period was so fun and enjoyable. I had a great time!

Over the past two months of internship at Novatek, I’ve been motivated to bring forth the best of myself, learning from remarkable individuals across the company. My time and experience at Novatek have been deeply fulfilling. I’m especially grateful to my managers, supervisors and HR for their invaluable support. Being part of the verification team allowed me to deepen my understanding of state-of-the-art approaches in Integrated Circuits (IC) Design Verification, including UVMF and System Verilog. I look forward to exciting future collaborations!

I’m very glad to have an opportunity to work as an Analog design intern here at Novatek. I have learned a lot about Analog design techniques and real experiences from my mentor and my co-workers as well. Along the internship, the mentor guided me step by step by letting me do the hands-on design works and encounter the challenges which made my knowledge boundary to extend monumentally. The company also provided many fun activities during the internship to make us know each other and develop connections. The overall experience here is impressive and I want to send gratitude to Novatek for having me here as an intern. Thank you!

Six months ago, I freaked out when I heard that last year none of international students from my graduate school could find an internship opportunity in Taiwan. But now I have a wonderful internship experience with Novatek. I got a 5-star dormitory room, found my favorite place in Taiwan, made new good friends, and explored the new working culture in Novatek.  With this amazing experience, I will blend in better at Novatek or any Taiwanese companies after I graduate. It is a 1000-point summer internship for Novatek.
