With the growing global emphasis on net-zero emissions, CommonWealth Magazine has collaborated with Tunghai University since 2022 to establish the “Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer” platform. This platform adopts methodologies from the IPCC AR6 report and aligns with the scientific carbon reduction pathways advocated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), recording and disclosing the ambition and pathways of various companies in carbon reduction.
In June 2025, CommonWealth Magazine hosted the “1.5°C Forum—Keeping the Line on Global Warming,” where it announced the results of this year’s Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer survey. Novatek Microelectronics stood out among 1,200 companies for the third consecutive year and was rated at the highest “Outstanding Performance” temperature level. This recognition indicates that Novatek’s carbon reduction planning and net-zero commitments meet the ambitious temperature control targets required by the Paris Agreement. As a result, Novatek was awarded the “1.5°C Temperature Control Target Certification” by the Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer.
Looking forward, Novatek Microelectronics will continue to link environmental sustainability actions, such as enhancing the efficiency of green energy usage and safeguarding biodiversity. The company is committed to advancing various net-zero strategies to gradually realize the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050, and to become a benchmark enterprise with carbon competitiveness.
