Novatek Microelectronics Corp. and the See You—Chi Po-lin Foundation jointly organized the “Chi Po-lin Seed Academy — Environmental Imaging Workshop,” which was held for the first time during the summer of 2025 at the Nan-da campus of National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu. The five-day field study and imaging course invited 20 students aged 12–14 to participate. The program prioritized employees’ children, opened remaining spots to community friends and family, and reserved places for disadvantaged students from remote areas.
The workshop emphasized using smartphones as tools and the camera as a medium. Through mobile photography instruction combined with ecological observation, environmental stewardship, and collaborative creation, the program aimed to awaken environmental awareness through images, moving from “seeing” to “speaking out,” and guiding students to document the stories of the land with their lenses. Topics covered collaborative communication, habitat and biodiversity conservation, and technical skills in image capture and editing. These align with Novatek’s core expertise in imaging and display, and aim to cultivate environmental sensitivity and visual storytelling skills in the next generation. Outcomes were substantial: students produced over 1,000 images, teams completed three interactive visual posters and engaged with local residents, and the works reached more than 100 interactions with the public. The instructional team combined Novatek employees serving as professional lecturers—teaching imaging and 3D visual basics—with field observation sessions led by expert instructors from the Society of Wilderness at sites such as Gaofeng Botanical Garden and Xiangshan Wetland. Covering both cultural and ecological settings, the program introduced children to biodiversity, encouraged sensory engagement with the land, and guided students to internalize environmental awareness into actionable behavior.
Novatek fully sponsored the program as part of its corporate resources, practicing a “people-centered, environment-friendly” corporate social responsibility approach. In addition, eight parents donated to the See You—Chi Po-lin Foundation, designating contributions to initiatives such as visual heritage, environmental sustainability, and environmental education. These joint efforts aim to protect the environment and amplify support for future conservation projects.
