Novatek Commits to Environmental Sustainability — Continues Sponsorship of Hsinchu Air Quality Purification Area "Horizon by the Sea"

Novatek Microelectronics has a long‑standing practice of sponsoring and maintaining public green spaces to preserve recreational areas for the community. The company has continuously maintained the Yushan National Park trail since 2007 (19 years) and, since 2022, has sponsored the Hsinchu Air Quality Purification Area “Horizon by the Sea” for four consecutive years. Recently, Novatek received public recognition from the Hsinchu City Government for these efforts.
Located along Hsinchu’s coastal strip and covering approximately 1 hectare, the “Horizon by the Sea” scenic area has been cared for by company volunteers on a regular basis for the past four years. Activities include environmental cleaning, plant maintenance, and an expansion of the area under company stewardship. By mobilizing corporate volunteers, Novatek invests corporate resources and manpower into the upkeep and protection of the local environment.
The site contains 69 planted trees and shrubs—such as Terminalia catappa (sea almond), Araucaria columnaris (Cook pine), and extensive lawn/green space—with an estimated carbon stock of 4.237 metric tons and an annual natural CO2 purification (sequestration/cleaning) function of 6.007 metric tons. The area thus contributes to air purification while offering the public opportunities for recreation, ecological education, and sustainable resource use. Through sustained company action and employee volunteerism, Novatek reaffirms its dedication to environmental sustainability and ecological stewardship.
