Novatek Social Caring Fund Illuminates the Learning Path for Students with Visual Impairments, Supporting Dual Format Educational Materials

Support for the Disadvantaged

Through sustained philanthropic action, the Novatek Social Caring Fund continues to enhance educational resources for students with visual impairments, ensuring that every child has access to equal learning opportunities. Following its donation in 2024—including contributions worth NT$958,000 for the Cloud Thousand Eyes Platform book donation program and a high‑speed Braille printing machine to the Taipei Association of Parents of the Visually Impaired—the Fund further donated NT$456,000 in 2025 to support the Association in procuring two image embossing printers and related books.

The image embossing printers are used to produce dual‑format educational materials, which are accessible to both sighted and visually impaired learners. These materials integrate standard printed text and graphics with tactile images and Braille, enabling teachers and parents to more effectively support instruction and shared reading experiences in inclusive learning environments.

The printers are dedicated to producing dual‑format tactile textbooks required by visually impaired students across 178 elementary and junior high schools in northern Taiwan. On an annual basis, the initiative supports 356 student instances, producing approximately 1,000 volumes and tens of thousands of tactile images, allowing students to learn through Braille and tactile graphics. This significantly enhances the accessibility, completeness, and inclusiveness of educational resources, while safeguarding the right to education for students with visual impairments.

Guided by its long‑standing philosophy of “pooling small contributions from many to create meaningful social impact,” the Novatek Social Caring Fund aggregates collective goodwill to support public welfare and social service organizations, thereby delivering more appropriate and effective care to underserved and disadvantaged communities. Looking ahead, Novatek will continue to focus on education, reading, and underprivileged children and youth, advancing social inclusion and educational equity through concrete actions, and fostering a more inclusive and hopeful learning ecosystem.
