In response to the growing global emphasis on net-zero emissions, CommonWealth Magazine has partnered with Tunghai University since 2022 to establish the “Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer” platform. This platform adopts the methodology outlined in the IPCC AR6 report and aligns with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to track and disclose corporations’ decarbonization ambition, targets, and transition pathways.
In June 2026, CommonWealth Magazine hosted the “1.5°C Forum – Safeguarding the Global Temperature Threshold” and announced the results of its 2026 “Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer” survey. Among 2,049 companies assessed, a total of 601 Taiwanese enterprises met the 1.5°C temperature alignment standard. Notably, Novatek Microelectronics Corp. has been recognized for four consecutive years, from 2023 to 2026, with the highest “Outstanding Performance” rating. This distinction signifies that the company’s decarbonization strategy and net-zero commitments are aligned with the ambitious temperature control targets set forth in the Paris Agreement, and it has been awarded the “1.5°C Certification.”
Novatek will continue to advance its net-zero strategy through a range of environmental sustainability initiatives, including enhancing green energy efficiency and promoting biodiversity conservation. The company remains committed to progressively achieving its 2050 net-zero emissions target and positioning itself as a benchmark enterprise with strong carbon competitiveness.
