With the international emphasis on "net zero emissions" growing and evolving, CommonWealth Magazine, in collaboration with Tunghai University, has launched the "TRIPs Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer." This initiative records and reveals each company's intentions and pathways for carbon reduction. Based on metrics such as the company's carbon reduction baseline year, target year, and greenhouse gas emissions, linear predictions are used to simulate and analyze each company's long-term carbon reduction pathway. Climate models and parameter matrices are then employed to determine the projected temperature increase for each company by the end of this century.
In June 2024, CommonWealth Magazine hosted the "Corporate 1.5°C Forum," which aligns with the global temperature control target of limiting warming to 1.5°C. During this forum, the results of this year's "Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer" survey has been announced. Among 967 companies, Novatek has distinguished itself and been awarded the 1.5°C Climate Action Certificate by CommonWealth Magazine.
Novatek will continue its efforts by enhancing the efficiency of green energy usage, protecting biodiversity, and pursuing various environmental sustainability initiatives. The company is committed to implementing net zero strategies to gradually achieve the goal of net zero emissions by 2050, aiming to become a benchmark enterprise with carbon competitiveness.
