Top 100 Sustainable Citizens Report: Accompanying and Caring, Novatek Opens a Window to the World for Visually Impaired Students

Volunteer Service

Novatek has been selected for the Top 100 Sustainable Citizens Award by CommonWealth Magazine for four consecutive years. The featured theme for the awarded companies is "Accompanying and Caring, Novatek Opens a Window to the World for Visually Impaired Students," which shares Novatek's 15-year commitment to volunteering in education for visually impaired students.

Report Summary:
The choice to focus on visually impaired students is closely related to Novatek's main business. As a leading global supplier of driver ICs, Novatek is centered on imaging and display technologies, dedicated to providing people with better visual experiences. However, no matter how advanced the technology, it ultimately cannot benefit the visually impaired community. Therefore, since 2010, Novatek's charitable focus has been on the visually impaired, primarily targeting Taichung School for the Visually Impaired and visually impaired students in the Changhua area.

Simply donating is not enough; Novatek's engineers, known for their hands-on approach, take action. Novatek volunteers often spend weekends providing one-on-one companionship to visually impaired students. To date, they have visited ecological parks and historical sites across Changhua and Miaoli, and have even gone wave-watching and beach-cleaning in Taichung together.

By leading visually impaired children into nature to experience the change of seasons and participating in ecological and cultural activities in non-visual ways, these engineers, who strive for better visual effects, find themselves deeply touched. As a result, the number of volunteers continues to grow each year, and the frequency of activities increases.
