Since 2024, Novatek has been implementing a green office initiative across its facilities titled "Decarbonize from Daily Life." Alkaline batteries are a daily essential heavily used by engineers during product development and testing. To protect the environment and advance sustainability, Novatek has replaced disposable batteries used in routine operations with rechargeable batteries, and has established charging and recycling management procedures to ensure resource circularity and reduce carbon emissions. After 18 months of implementation, the program has eliminated the use of approximately 1,500 single-use batteries, corresponding to about 130 kg CO₂ — equivalent to the annual carbon sequestration of roughly 12 mature trees.

This green office program starts with small, everyday actions. This bottom-up environmental effort demonstrates how minor changes can accumulate into tangible sustainable momentum. Replacing disposable batteries with rechargeable ones not only reduces waste and resource consumption, but also lowers long-term procurement costs, strengthens employees' sustainability awareness in daily work, and showcases the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship as it advances toward net-zero emissions. Novatek will continue to center its efforts on green actions, encouraging employees to participate in energy saving, carbon reduction, resource circularity, and sustainable living — turning small changes into significant impact as we work together to build a greener way of life.
