Sustainability Strategy Blueprint

In September 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the 2030 sustainable development agenda. In achieving these goals of sustainable development, apart from relying on the power between nations, enterprises will also play an indispensable role. As a global citizen and an important member of the semiconductor industry chain, Novatek endeavors to combine corporate sustainable development with the SDGs, jointly seeking a better, more sustainable future through its own goals and efforts. Novatek selected 16 priority goals from the 17 SDGs. Regarding potential risks or opportunities for SDGs arising from operational activities, relevant countermeasures will be actively developed in the future.

Strategies and Goals

After completing the identification of SDGs in the value chain, Novatek formulated related management strategies according to the material issues corresponding to the SDGs. Based on the period of SDGs and the content of SDG targets, we presented the annual performance for management. For more information, please refer to the corresponding chapter (section).

Throughout the year, a total of 3.022 GWh of green energy was obtained, achieving a renewable energy utilization rate of 7.8%.

Invested NT$4.394 billion in the R&D of energy-saving products, with annual revenue exceeding NT$36.3 billion (accounting for 33% of the revenue).

Invested about NT$16.21 million in energy-saving projects, resulting in a 1.03% growth in the electricity-saving rate compared to last year.

Passed the external audit for ISO 27001 Information Security Management System certification.

Passed the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) A-level verification for the 2nd consecutive year.

In 2023, Novatek invested NT$16.791 billion in R&D, accounting for 15.2% of the total revenue.

NT$61.68 million

Over 14 consecutive years, Novatek has sponsored more than NT$61.68 million to cultivate 253 outstanding talents with master's and doctoral degrees in electrical and information engineering.

 Energy-saving

The introduction of innovative technology, 4K TV 120 Hz, saved approximately 5.5 GWh of electricity, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 1,531 households.
